This specific E39 M5 is a new arrival to EAG and right away we went to work making it a turn-key example and future Signature Vehicle. Finding a late model version of the E39, in this spec, at this mileage is incredibly rare. When you couple that with the fact it's been a TX and CA vehicle its whole life the position to preserve this vehicle is a must.
The previous owner and client knew this was a special vehicle and enhanced it properly with Dinan components. This now is what we call a Signature S Package so it has the intake, exhaust, front strut brace, and rear sway bar all upgraded from Dinan. The combination of these parts allows for a more visceral experience without any compromise. In order to ensure that enjoyment can be had at anytime EAG has completed its Comprehensive Inspection and will be performing several services to make this turn-key, anytime. These services include a full fluid and filter change, fan clutch replacement, belt tensioner replacement, oil pan solenoid o-rings, upper control and toe arm replacement. front thrust rod bushings and an alignment to accompany all of the suspension refresh.
At EAG, we think that the E39 M5 may be the ultimate sport sedan of all time. Although BMW has built some cars that are faster, more nimble and more luxurious inside, there was something about this car that made everything just gel perfectly. This is a great example for someone who wants to see what all the fuss is about with this chassis and can appreciate.
Powering this M5 is the famed S62 V8- a true masterpiece of engineering. With 4.9 liters of displacement, this engine produces 394 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque and offers instant throttle response thanks to 8 individual throttle bodies and double VANOS variable valve timing. In all E39 M5s, this power is sent through a 6-speed Getrag manual gearbox with a reinforced clutch to the rear wheels via a shortened 3.15:1 limited-slip rear differential. On this car’s trip through our shop in 2020, we added a few performance upgrades to this example that add a bit of power and make for a properly enjoyable driving experience. A Dinan cold air intake was fitted, along with some Dinan performance software to take advantage of the freer breathing. Additionally, a BMW short throw shifter was fitted to the Getrag box which, especially when paired with the ZHP shift knob, makes the gearbox so much fun to use.
