This example comes to us from a dear friend and owner of Avus Autosport! It was delivered and stayed as a West Coast vehicle all of its life and we recently had the opportunity to offer it. We decided to spend 10k in proactive services on what others would believe was a perfect car because of how special this spec is and will be future classic.
Services we performed will be no surprise to anyone familiar with the E9x and S65 platform. They include belt tensioners, valve cover gaskets, axle seals, and transmission reseal. This coupled with new Michelin 4S tires, a recharged AC system, and all of EAG's extra mile services ensuring this arrives ready to be enjoyed.
Powering the E9x generation M3 is the infamous S65 DOHC V8 which produces 414 horsepower stock and revs all the way to 8,400 rpm. As the final naturally aspirated M engine from BMW, this one made a statement. With 8 individual throttle bodies breathing from an upgraded Dinan Intake and VANOS variable valve timing on the intake and exhaust cams, the S65 is capable of providing gobs of low-end power while still revving higher than almost any other V8 on the market and making power all the way around the tachometer. In addition, it makes an outstanding noise that is low and muscly at idle but transitions to a high-pitched scream as you rev it out. This car was optioned with the very desirable 6-speed manual gearbox that offers a fantastic shift feel and puts a smile on your face every time you swap cogs. For the collectors, this is the gearbox you want.
