EAG Impressions

This California vehicle has been dealer serviced its whole life until we received it where we had the opportunity to enhance and ensure this example will be received as a need nothing example of the E92 M3.

We inspected this vehicle and while nothing was required, we opted to performed several proactive services. These include all time-based fluids and filters along with resetting the system so no warnings will occur during ownership until the next time comes. We also replaced the front brakes with Genuine BMW parts and new wheels wrapped in Michelin's best 4S tires.

Overview

This 2013 Lime Rock Park Edition E92 M3 was delivered new to Weatherford BMW in Berkley, CA in October of 2012 and sold to its first owner in early November of the same year. Residing in Northern California its whole life, this M3 shows just 12,058 miles at the time of cataloging and has been kept to a very high standard. The car’s signature Fire Orange paint is in fantastic condition, and the 19” Y-Spoke Competition pack wheels- finished in satin black on this car- are in largely very good condition.

Although the Lime Rock Park Edition was built as a track-focused M3, BMW made sure not to get rid of the luxury features that make these cars the ultimate do-anything sports car. Black Novillo leather covers the seats, door cards, and center console, and the Premium Package fits the car with convenience features like Comfort Access, Navigation, and Park Distance Control. That being said, there are a few unique bits featured in the Lime Rock’s interior- an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel with a blue band at 12 o’clock and in the center console, a placard denoting this as “One of 200” with a track map of the famed track the car draws its name from.

Under the hood sits BMW’s legendary S65 DOHC V8, producing 414 horsepower and revving all the way to 8,400 rpm. As the final naturally aspirated M engine from BMW, they certainly did make a statement with 8 individual throttle bodies and VANOS variable valve timing on the intake and exhaust cams. With dealer servicing from new, this car has been kept to a high mechanical standard and runs essentially like a new car. This jewel of a motor is paired to a 7-speed DCT gearbox in this example, which offers lightning-fast shifts on track and is easy to use in town.

We always have a few Lime Rock Park M3s around at EAG- as the end of the E92 line, they drive so nicely and we think the color is just as cool as it gets. When you factor in that BMW only built 200 of these cars, and they were some of the last naturally aspirated M3s to ever roll out of the BMW factory, how could they not be some of the most collectible E9Xs in the future?
