EAG Impressions
The E9X series (E90 sedan, E91 wagon, E92 coupe, E93 convertible) continued BMW's tradition of evolutionary design for the 3-Series. This generation saw increased globalization of BMW's lineup, with U.S. models more closely matching their European counterparts in terms of available engines and features. The E92 M3, powered by a high-revving V8, was virtually identical in both markets, marking a significant milestone for American BMW enthusiasts who had long envied European-spec models.
Overview

The E9X generation BMW M3 represents the end of an era for BMW Motorsport. A brand that was built on high-revving, naturally aspirated engines, as production concluded on the E9X in 2013, M cars all took on forced induction. Although the new engines offered far more power, improved drivability, and increased fuel economy, there is no doubt that they lost some of the charm that made people fall in love with BMW M over its decades of building cars. But, thankfully, the naturally aspirated engine they went out on was one of the greatest powerplants ever put in a road car and will forever stand as a high point in the world of enthusiast vehicles.
This 2013 BMW E92 M3 was built in December of 2012 and is finished in Alpine White over a Black Novillo Leather interior. Sold new through BMW of Escondido in Escondido, California, this M3 is a lifelong West Coast car, spending time in Southern California, Oregon, and most recently, Northern California. Showing just 44,970 miles from new, this 6-speed manual-equipped car features the coveted carbon fiber roof panel, along with a decklid spoiler finished in carbon to match. Fitted from the factory with the desirable Competition Package, this car sits on a set of stunning 19-inch Y-Spoke 359M wheels, wrapped in Falken Azenis tires.
The interior is wrapped in Black leather, which covers the seats, shift knob, steering wheel and E-Break handle. In the center of the dashboard, the E9X generation’s signature carbon fiber-look leather spans the vehicle and adds an attractive, sporty look to the interior. Slide into the power-adjustable, heated front seats, and you are met by a chunky 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel with M color stitching around the inner rim. This frames a pair of white-on-black gauges with a 200-MPH speedometer and a tachometer with a variable redline that lets you rev all the way to 8,400 when the car is at operating temperature.
Powering this E92 M3 is the legendary S65 V8 - with 4.0 liters of displacement, this 414 horsepower motor is known for its ability to rev all the way to 8,400 rpm. With 8 individual throttle bodies, the throttle response is outstanding and both the induction noise and the sound that comes out of the tailpipes is intoxicating as you wind it around the tachometer. This engine is paired in this car to a 6-speed manual gearbox that makes every drive a joy and is both fun to use and easy to operate. With the Competition package, the car receives suspension upgrades in the form of a 10 mm drop and higher limits on the traction and stability control systems.
